1. Before installation, the minimum temperature in winter in this area should be determined. Generally, it is recommended to install it in a ground well with a depth of about 50-70cm in rural areas in the north. The ground temperature in winter can protect it from the cold, and covering some dry firewood on the upper part of the ground well can increase the cold protection effect.

3. In areas where conditions permit, a water meter insulation sleeve can be set for the water meter. This water meter insulation sleeve has two kinds of cotton and waterproof cloth. The inner core is industrial white silk wool, which has a very good cold protection effect and is relatively inexpensive. It can reduce the loss caused by water meter freezing, and the water meter insulation sleeve can be reused.
4. Heat tracing device can be added to the water meter and its pipeline. This method has great construction difficulty and high cost, depending on the situation.
